Approaches
Our approach to engaging and embracing interfaith families includes the following:
• Specialized programs to help the non-Jewish family member become more familiar with the Temple environment, ceremonies and content of religious education that their children may be receiving;
• Targeted activities designed to introduce interfaith families with one another;
• Support and discussion groups to help address issues that face interfaith families; and
• Co-sponsored events and activities with other clubs, committees and organizations within Temple Emaunu-El to help non-Jewish members and interfaith families become more completely engaged in the Temple Emanu-El community.

Background and Goals
We at Temple Emanu-El believe that the future of both our synagogue and American Jewry depends on taking the broadest and most inclusive approach
to what constitutes a Jewish family.
While some of our congregants and prospective members come from exclusively Jewish backgrounds, many of them are interfaith families, or include family members who are Jews by choice.
Temple Emanu-El has a long history of welcoming interfaith families to our congregation.
We embrace these families as part of the fabric that weaves the future American Jewry and should be fully included within and among our congregation.
