Temple Emanu-El Federation of Temple Youth - TEFTY
TEFTY is our youth group for 9th through 12th graders.
Governed by the youth themselves, this group is under the supervision of one of our clergy. Past events have included:
• White Water Rafting trips, ice skating at The Cooler in Alpharetta, paint ball excursions, trips to Six Flags
• In an ongoing effort, TEFTY fund raises for Camp Jenny. Through the sale of bagels and cream cheese prior to religious school sessions and additional fundraisers, TEFTY raises approximately $1000.00 annually for Camp Jenny.
• Larger Reform Jewish community events for teens, include Fall and Spring Kallah. TEFTY has hosted the Fall Kallah most recently in 2009, and will continue to send delegates to attend these regional events.
• In addition to these happenings, TEFTY also holds an Annual Ball complete with themed costumes, music, dancing, and tons of fun! The TEFTY Ball, however, is not only fun and games, over 90% of the evenings proceeds go to Camp Jenny. Last year the group raised around $500.00!!
