ONEG
Students in grades 8, 9 and 10 continue their Jewish learning in ONEG – ONgoing Education and Growth. With weekly sessions (for 8th – 10th graders) and monthly sessions (for 11th & 12th graders) we hold engaging discussions, seminar-style lessons, creative prayer services, joint programs to connect with students from neighboring synagogues, we go on exciting trips and host visiting speakers.
8th Grade: Sunday morning: 9:15 AM - Noon
Taught by Ana Fuchs and Sydney Lewis, this is discussion-based program has teens examine decision making through the lens of Jewish texts and tradition when making tough choices in our modern world. A second component of the program has the students creating and implementing special holiday programs for the youngest students in our school.

Here, our oldest ONEG students meet once per month to discuss current issues in the news and how they affect the Jewish community. These sessions are taught by the clergy and guests. This is an informal and engaging way to keep in touch with old friends, make new ones, and maintain a growing Jewish identity.
Here are some details and dates that you should know for all grades…
• All of our ONEG students will be thinking about and discussing some tough issues.Go ahead and ask them about their class discussions and invite them to share their thoughts with you. Look at the texts they are studying when they bring them home. We encourage you to involve yourselves in their learning.
• Please ensure that your ONEG participant has a few dollars to purchase pizza and a soda each week. We do need to cover our costs, so - $1.50 each week ($1.00 per slice + .50 cents for soda)
